Cheese!

A lot of the cheese you can get here in grocery stores is highly processed kraft singles-type cheese. So at the weekend market we stock up on the good stuff! Here is the stall we affectionately call "the cheese lady" (who always gives Tegan props for understanding the awesomeness of cheese).

New Hampshire

We finished our east coast trip in New Hampshire, and like our trip 2 years ago, visited Kate and Jeff's farm as well as Jeremiah's aunt and uncle's lake house.  In contrast to the first part of our trip this was considerably slower paced, a nice way to end our time there.  And to round out our modes of transportation for the trip (plane, train, bus, subway, car, taxi, and boat) Tegan added tractor (ok, it was stationary but that didn't seem to bother her).

1905 farmers market

Our weekends have been shaping up nicely.  Since we have an in house alarm that rarely lets us sleep past 6:30, we are up and ready to make the most of our days off.  Saturday mornings we've been going to the restaurant 1905 for breakfast and the farmers market.  We stock up on cheeses, breads, meat and fresh fruit/veggies while running into half our co-workers and students' parents (I've never ran into so many people I know while out than we do in Kathmandu).  It's great people watching too - with folks who have been here forever to the tourist fresh off the plane, it's an odd assortment of people who seem connected by the common need for good, fresh food.
